I’m just sad the project it described doesn’t exist! It would be fascinating. It did remind me a bit of The Dinner Party but I love the idea of it as a multimedia art project. I’m a little concerned that art students may start to use AI to replace their own ideas. It’s definitely not how I thought AI would be used.
I have read about (and personally experienced) many examples of AI hallucinating, however I don't think that your example shown above fits that description.
In your case, your question was ambiguous "give me an example" - which could be interpreted as "provide an idea of the type of thing that might possibly exist" instead of your intended "provide an example of something that actually exists".
The original answer started with: "This fictional project imagines...". It was not hallucinating, it was completely up front about telling you that it was giving you a example of the type of thing that could potentially exist - *not* an actual thing that actually exists.
I find this to be a completely valid, and quite helpful, aspect of AI - using it to give me ideas of something that I can then create.
Very interesting, I am testing AI at the moment by asking for a set of content to be created every day on certain topics, I am then running the results through Copyscape. Copyscape results are very telling that there indeed are content scrapes from existing content by GPT4 with slight to medium embellishments. There is new copyright law that has just passed in the US which states an AI creation may very well include previously created content which is close enough that it may have legal implications. Something to definitely think about when utilizing this brand new technology.
I love the way your mind work. It is amazing that we share a thirst for knowledge. The sudden apparition of AI, which unless you are involved in computer sciences or are a fan of Science Fiction, it was a surprise for a lot of people. Now every time that you open a newspaper or magazine you can read about it. Coming from and sharing two different worlds requires a skill set that you can't learn in school. The two worlds that I'm referring to are the developed world and the Latino world (I come from Mexico) and have living experiences in France and Houston. So yes there are crashes all over the world thanks to AI.
