The {everything} Has Changed
If there is one takeaway from the last year is that everything has changed forever.
There used to be a time where if I wanted a script to scrape a site or abuse an API, I had to write it myself.
I scraped billions of keywords and CPCs from Google back in the day.
I am a proud, self-taught coder, I love being able to write code in over 13 languages, but eventually I outsourced this kind of work to contractors. Time vs Money etc.
But I would often spend more time in back-and-to chat than it would take me to write it myself.
This has changed…
I for one really appreciate our AI overlords. Yesterday as part of The Challenge prep I asked an AI to write a script to grep some data for me.
Sure, it wasn’t perfect the first time, but after a few chats, and a few minutes of my time I had an almost perfect script that got the job done.
(This, as well as the prompts I used will be available as part of day one of The Challenge)
… Total time taken… less than five minutes.
Time taken for me to do this manually… about an hour.
AI has changing everything we, and certainly I… do.
We can use this in a smart way. AI has changed everything we can… and need to do.
This is what The Challenge is about.
AI is not just a tool to answer questions, or write a crappy article, it is a valuable member of you team. In my case, The Challenge I am hoping that it will replace at least 40+ people in a real world business.
… and yes, this is kind of dystopian..
AI replaces humans and all that.
But, that is where we are right now. I am not sure how I feel about it. But I do need to be part of it to see.
If you are remotely interested in how you can use AI this year in ways that will take most people years to understand… Then Join The Challenge,
See you on the inside.

AI is killing jobs, but I remember when offices had 20 people with IBM typewriters. Within a few years, those were gone and the same office, if it still existed, had a handful of people with computers (often not IBM brand, either). Now, you can run a business off of a smartphone.
The thing is, you would not have started a business that required 40 people, so in this case, you're not taking any jobs away. Also, I've seen AI replace consultants and 3rd party services that were overpriced (like $100,000 for what amounted to a couple of landing pages and some low cost hosting). Things change. AI is coming for us all. Adapt or die. A harsh truth, but true nonetheless.
AI won't just replace and remove jobs, it'll help create new ones, some of which we haven't even thought of. Yet.
