I haven’t done a challenge like this since way back in 2006… and the internet has changed sooo much since then, and to be honest, so have I.
I am a 51 year-old man who is obsessed by new technology and exploring what really is possible right now, but…
I don’t do 18 hour days, I am not a Gary V. who creates dozens of social media posts a day to get the message out.
I don’t make videos, I don’t do interviews, I don’t do podcasts. I am no longer interested in getting up on stage…
I don’t do any of that…
… and I no longer have a team… it’s just me…
I get up, I take my best dog friend Doris for a walk, I come home, and I work on stuff I am interested in.
That’s my day. Yes kind of boring but true.
… and this is where The Challenge (or this iteration of it) kind-of started.
If I had to start from scratch, right now, what would I do?
(Everything has changed)…
Questions?
Could I build an affiliate business?
Does drop-shipping still work? (tariffs?)
Can I build a Shopify store (tariffs again)?
Can I afford to pay for ads starting from nothing?
Is organic search still working?
Can I get ranked on Google anymore?
Can I use Facebook to generate leads still?
Does Pinterest still work?
Can we spam Reddit posts?
Can I do it starting with nothing?
Is $200 even a decent starting pot?
For me, the options were way too much. Too many variables. I wanted a business I can run solo, and a little while ago on a random doom-scroll I came across a business making close to $2 million a year that got my attention…
It sparked an idea… could I replicate this, but just using AI?
They have a 40+ team working for them, mostly contractors but with a few full time staff, so pretty much a huge wage bill at the end of the day.
They don’t run social media campaigns, they have a digital product, no affiliates, no email list, and they don’t spend a penny on ads.
Would it be possible to replace those outsourced people with AI?
Could I at least get a percentage of their income, maybe just 20% just using AI tools?
That was way back in March, I lost many days of sleep thinking about this idea.. and it has consumed me ever since.
Can I build a real job replacement income, just using the AI tools you and I have ready access to?
Could I replace 40+ contractors with AI tools?
Can I do it with a starting pot of just a few hundred dollars?
Can I run this on my own, no staff, just me?
To be fair, I am 100% not sure.
I am not going to promise the world here. I am no Tony Robbins who will show you the dream and up-sell you on tens-of-thousands of dollars of coaching. This is just me, sitting in my office, with an idea.
… and I am going to give it a go and share everything with you.
Starting June 1st (next Sunday), I will be running The Challenge. My attempt to take over a huge business just using AI.
I will share everything I do. You will get regular podcasts (yes I am going to go there), screen recordings, a live stream of my whiteboard, access to my Kanban board, and daily detailed lessons as well as access to my notes.
You will see everything I do throughout the day, no matter how boring that may be.
There will be a chat / forum that you can take part in as well as regular office hours where three times a week I will be available for a live chat. (I am going to do this at hours suitable for UK, USA, and Australian members)…
For five days a week (I still value my time off at the weekends), I will be live in the private chat forums (more details on Monday), where you can ask me anything… I want this to be our main community hub.
… and I want you to take part.
What I am going to show you is nothing like you have probably seen before. This is a business that sits underground but makes a huge amount of money a year. $36 billion to be precise.
I am going to give you the inside track, show you how you can grab a tiny part of that… and show you how you can use AI to take advantage of that.
I will be posting full details on Monday, until then have a great holiday weekend.
As always, I would appreciate your feedback to make sure I am on the right track. Is this something you want to see?
Dan
Sounds like fun.
Looking forwards to seeing if this is feasible in 2025.
