A couple of weeks ago Google made Google NotebookLLM available for everyone and I have been using it quite extensively to help with a large project I am working on for you guys.
What is essentially is, is a research tool which allows you to import your PDFs, word docs, web pages etc. and ask questions. It’s kind of like having a research assistant with you when you are working on a project.
Now there are other tools out there which provide this kind of capability, but most of them are quite limited unless you pony up some money, and to be honest, they are not as good.
Now I am using it to write a book, I have uploaded 65 of my own PDFs, added 32 audio transcripts from my walks with my dog, and have referenced text from a huge amount of web pages I have bookmarked for this project and it is saving me countless hours bringing up information that I would otherwise have to scan through to find the right bit.
As a writing tool this is amazingly useful.
But that’s not all it is. I recently used it to summarize PDFs and provide detailed action guides (I will show you that in a minute), and you can also use it as a study guide.
What I found particularly helpful is asking questions like ‘what are the differences in opinions between the web pages I have uploaded?, or extract all the key statistics mentioned in my research, or provide me a detailed outline of an article based on my research, together with key points I need to mention in each section.
Its a pretty good tool right now and I am sure it will only get better.
Here is a quick example I used it for the other day.
I bought a book… Memes Make Millions which I plan to read at the weekend, but I thought I would use it to get a summary and some actions points. Here is the result.
Report Breakdown and Action Points
This report, "Memes Make Millions," by Jason Levin1, explores the world of memes and how they can be used for marketing and generating income.
How Memes Make Millions
Meme Marketing: Using memes as a marketing tool to reach a wider audience.
Meme Monetization: Exploiting the popularity of memes to generate revenue.
Key Strategies for Making Money with Memes
Sell Ads on a Meme Page: Establish a meme page and sell advertising space directly to businesses. The success of this strategy often depends on achieving a substantial number of followers, with accounts having around 60,000 followers potentially earning $3,000 per month from ads.
Start a Newsletter: Create a meme page and use its popularity to attract subscribers to a newsletter where ads can be displayed. This approach allows communication with the audience even if the social media account faces issues or the platform experiences problems.
Sell Merchandise: Develop a meme page into a recognizable brand and sell branded merchandise. This necessitates building a strong brand identity that resonates with the audience.
Offer Meme Creation Services: Become an in-house or freelance meme creator, or even launch a content agency specializing in humorous content for startups and businesses. This strategy often involves partnering meme creation skills with other services like content writing, video editing, or podcasting.
Use Memes as Ads: Design meme-style advertisements to promote products or services on platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The goal is not necessarily to elicit laughter but to capture attention and market the product in a novel and engaging format.
Drive Attention to Existing Products: Leverage the virality of memes to direct attention to existing products or services by including calls to action in the captions or comments of popular memes.
Essential Insights from Memelords
